4. Describe Kevin when we first meet him? Why does Max run off when Kevin spots him? Kevin has a large bump on his back and has 2 sticks helping him walk. Max runs off when Kevin sees him because Kevin says, "what, you've never seen a freak before".

6. Who is Max’s tutor and what book does he want Max to read? Kevin is Max's tutor and he wants Kevin to read 'The

7. Why is this chapter called “Dinosaur Brain?” This chapter is called 'Dinosaur Brain" because max is not very intelligent (failed grade 7) and has a brain the size of a dinosaur.

8. Why did the fireworks seem extra bright to Max? The fireworks seemed extra bright to Max because he was helping someone (Kevin) who was so happy to see the fireworks from on his shoulders.

Chapter Two: Walking High above the World

1. What does the title of this chapter describe about Max and Kevin’s “partnership”? This chapter is called "Partnership" because Max and Kevin made an agreement that Kevin was going to be the brains and Max will be the legs

2. Who do Max and Kevin pretend to be? Max and Kevin pretend to be knights in the medieval times.

3. What is “The treasure cleverly concealed in the slime of Dragons?” The purse is stuck in the sewage hole

4. Who is Loretta? Why does she recognize Max? Loretta is Max's dad's friend. She recognizes him from the newspaper because Max didn't talk in court.

5. Why does Kevin “Knight” himself as in the museum? Kevin "Knights" himself as "Freak the Mighty"

Chapter Three: Falling Down to Earth

1. Describe what happened in Mr. Patterson’s (the Principal) office. Mr. Patterson told Kevin's mom that he couldn't participate in gym because of his disability but then changed his mind after she convinced him.

2. What happens to Kevin in the cafeteria? Kevin was eating his food too fast and he started to choke

3. Describe Kevin’s attitude about life. Kevin doesn't care about what people think of him. He is very outgoing and he feels like he doesn't need anyone to take care of him.

4. What is Max afraid of? What does Gran say to him? Max is afraid of

Chapter Four: What came down the Chimney

1. Who pays Max a visit? Max's dad or "Killer" Kane plays Max a visit.

2. Why was Max “frozen like a lobster?” Max was frozen like a lobster because he couldn't move because he was so scared and was in shock

Chapter Five: The Shortest Night of the Year

1. What clues does Kevin find to indicate what happened to Max and where he might be? Kevin finds max's baseball hat and broken glass near it. and a large footprint which indicated that his dad kidnapped him.

2. What does Loretta give Max? Why does she do this? Loretta gives max a knife to help him cut his way out of the rope and to get him out of there.

3. Describe how Kevin tries to get to Max. What occurs? Kevin gets to max by trying to drive a car t the apartment building but he crashes the car and has to used the bumper as a toboggan to get to the building.

4. What does Max’s father do when he finds out what Loretta gave to Max? What realization does Max come to? Max's father started to choke Loretta and Max realized that he say his dad killing his mother

5. How does Kevin rescue Max? Kevin rescues max by spraying a solution on his dad and telling him it will burn his face off, when in reality it won't do anything.

Chapter Six: The Empty Book

1. Why is this chapter called “The Empty Book?” This is called " The empty book" because Kevin gave Max an empty book for christmas and told him to write his own story.

2. Describe how Max reacts to Kevin’s death. Max isolate himself from the world and doesn't talk to anyone.

Last Chapter: What Loretta Said

1. What did Loretta say? Loretta says that "doing nothing is a drag" and to continue his life without Kevin.

2. What does Max do to begin connecting all the things he thought? He begins to write in the book that Kevin gave him and create his own story.

3. How does Max interpret, “Here Lies King Arthur- Once and Forever?” Max interprets it as Kevin will no longer be here but his legacy still loves on forever
